As I was spending some time alone and making sense of the whole idea of relationship. I happened to chance upon this Sermon by Ben Stuart which I’ve kindly indicated at the bottom of this article. He happens to be quite well versed in the space of relationship - a space that everyone seems familiar, yet difficult to manoeuvre.

Below are some of my takeaways from it.

• Find someone that lives out faith, not just talk about it.
• If you can trust God of the eternal, you can trust Him with your spouse.
• God will provide, if he doesnt provide, don’t worry abt it. Rather be single than settle.
• Find someone has the same commitment to God. That is the kind of relationship that will spur you on.
• If you want to marry the child of God, then go to God’s house!
• Find a woman whom is working. Who ain’t afraid to work
• Find her on a mission field. i want to be running and meet her running - Discipling other women; Someone you are trying to keep up with; Don’t find someone lazy.
• Find worker that are working. If you want to find a worker, go to the place where they are working

I need to pray, plan, and proceed

• Start by beginning in prayer! Make prayer my priority!! Before i make a move at the well, i want to pray!
• Pray for the kind of woman that is gracious, that will go up and beyond for people. Proverbs 19, what is desirable is his kindness.
• When she ask how was my day, she actually wants to know! Sincere and personal! Go for someone sincere and personal.
• Championing spiritual purity!
• Romance is jealous and possessive by nature
• This spiritual purity was never God’s requirement; looking through the linage of Jesus. They were not spiritually pure.
• Jesus’ bride did not come to him pure. And he loves us still! Spiritual purity is not a pre-requirement for spiritual powerful marriage!

Whatever decisions or mistake you make in the past, you are never too far gone.

• But when I started right before the Lord seriously, my perspectives changed and focuses to honour God and honour you.
• In your exploration: Watch and learn. Watch and learn…
• Knit tgt with someone so when you see her, you will drop to your knees and worship the Lord. Strive for that, don’t settle for anything less.
• You want to walk by faith, being knit together and that relationship will be worthy of worship to God!
• The journey towards marriage can be confusing, but get onboard with the Maker of all things.

Application point

Always keep yourself in-tune and aligned with the heart of the Father. If you are not sure if you are aligned, you’re probably not. Go back to Him!
